Paddle Routes of the Ottawa Valley Now Available!

The Ottawa Valley Tourist Association (OVTA) in partnership with the County of Renfrew Economic Development Department and local paddling enthusiasts have assembled a collection of paddle routes to help visitors and local residents explore the numerous waterways of the Ottawa Valley. It is a sampling of the many flat water and whitewater paddling opportunities for canoeists and kayakers of all skill levels and interests in this region. There are a range of trips from a few hours and kilometres in length to weekend and multi-day routes. The new, complimentary guide provides directions with put in and take out locations, points of interest, skill levels and description of the routes.

Just the information you need to see the most inspiring places in Renfrew County.  

Roots and Rivers was a huge success. We have distributed 40,000 copies and therefore the hardcopy version is no longer in stock. You can still however, download the electronic version.

Visit an expanded version of Roots and Rivers on our new Ottawa Valley Online Cultural Centre. This bi-lingual web site will feature local cultural attractions, heritage sites and hospitality services. You will be able to plan your route of exploration or choose one of five self-guided tours throughout the Ottawa Valley.

Pembroke Heritage Murals celebrates this area's rich character and heritage through large-scale paintings on an ever-increasing number of our city's downtown walls, colourfully portraying a bygone era for the enjoyment of today's generation.  Since the first five murals were painted in 1990, Pembroke Heritage Murals has overseen the creation of more than twenty murals by both local and national artists. Their styles are as varied as the wealth of historical source material they've researched and been influenced by.   

There are 3 ways to experience the rich history of these reknowned murals:
